Hospitalists Plus has partnered with a large multispecialty health group in West Virginia in search for a locum Hospitalist. Please refer to the details below - do you or a friend have any availability to help?

Locum Hospitalist needed ASAP ongoing.

 

Opportunity: 2 fulltime providers needed for both day and night shifts.

 

FACILITY INFORMATION

  • Number of hospital beds: 120 beds (effectively 80 in use)
  • Number of ICU beds: 12 ICU beds
  • EMR system: MedHost with an MModal dictation system
  • Board requirement: Board eligible or certified

LOCUMS NEED ASSESSMENT

  • Start date of locums need: January or sooner
  • Reason for Locum need? Fulltime resignations
  • How many FT positions are open? 1.5
  • How many shifts per month? 5-7 nights, 20 days
  • Length of assignment? 3 months
  • Is your need specific to days, nights, swing shifts, or flexible? Days and nights
  • Will nocturnist candidates be considered? yes
  • Consider candidates that only want weekends?  yes
  • Consider candidates who need to travel? Yes

 

PROGRAM DETAILS

  • Shift Times: 7a - 7p and 7p - 7a
  • How many MDs/APCs during the day?  2 physicians and 1 APC (APC is Monday - Thursday 7a -6p)
  • How many MDs/APCs during the night?  1 physician
  • How long is credentialing? can be expedited with CEO approval, otherwise, 2 months.
  • Will Temp/Emergency privileges granted? Yes
  • Will FP trained physicians be accepted in addition to IM?  Yes, prefer IM

 

CLINICAL DETAILS

  • Who responds to codes, EM or HM? HM (EM comes as well but HM runs)
  • Will locum providers respond to codes? Yes
  • What procedures are required of locums?  Intubation preferred (ER is willing), lines preferred but 24/7 surgery call is available.
  • What is the total census per provider during the day, including admissions? 18-20
  • How many of those are admissions during day?  3-5
  • How many admissions per night, on average? 8-10
  • What is the total HM census covered at night?  40
  • Is beeper call required?  No
  • Is it an open ICU?  Yes
  • Are there Intensivists?  No
  • What subspecialty back-up is available?  Surgery, urology, anesthesia, some cardiology call, nephrology
