This is a great opportunity to join a very established group in the Greater Atlanta Area. The Hospitalist program is 9 years old with a very low turnover rate. This group consists of 13 full – time doctors, with mid-level support.
Practicing in three hospitals ranging from a 200 bed Regional Medical Center to a 25 bed Critical Access Hospital. The group has a 5 day on 5 day off rotation, 6am-6pm with shared night call.
There are no procedures required, but with an open ICU a qualified physician can perform if it is desired. The average daily census ranges for 16-18 patients per day, with 6-7 doctors covering the three hospitals each day. The hospital teams rotate each location monthly.
The starting salary is $210,000 annually, plus bonus. There is a full benefit plan including paid time off, malpractice and health insurance. Sign on bonus, relocation and loan re-payment are negotiable.

Program Overview/Job Description:
• 7 on / 7 off block schedule

Full time Day Rounder Hospitalist in South Dakota Medical Center. Internal Medicine or Family Practice will be considered.
• Current Hospitalist rotations are 10 hour shifts (7am-5pm).
• Coverage shall include on-campus Hospitalist shifts with an average schedule of 7 days on/7 days off for hospitalist program in-patients with potential for admissions to the hospitalist program if the Admitter Service is backed up.
• Each provider will carry up to a maximum of 16 primary adult patients (age 16 and older).
• The day rounder will review the H & P, check on pending labs and tests initiated by the Nocturnist or admitter and ensure an appropriate treatment plan is implemented for the patient through discharge.
• The day rounder will effectively communicate with the patient, nursing staff, and the patient’s family the diagnosis, the treatment approach recommended as well as other options, and the approximate length of stay.
• They will consult specialists as needed, coordinate care and services, and keep the patient, family and entire multidisciplinary team informed.
• At end of scheduled rotation, the provider will provide a detailed summary of the patients being handed off to next scheduled partner ensuring successful continuity of care as well as communicate with the patient’s PCP.
• If the patient does not have a PCP, the Hospitalist will assist the patient in attaining one before discharge to ensure that all patients have an appointment with a PCP for follow up care.
• The Day Rounder is required to be on-campus/in-house for the entirety of the shift.
• Will be a direct resource for mid-level practitioners and to nurses on the floors caring for patients.
• Will provide excellent customer service to patient, family and support staff. Will effectively take the time to provide education on the patient’s condition to patient and family and will be a leader/effective resource to those caring for the patient.
• If patient’s condition worsens and care is beyond the Day Rounder’s scope of practice, the On-Call Pulmonologist/Intensivist will be notified.
• Each morning at 7:00 am, the Day Rounder will participate in a direct hand off with the Nocturnist Team member or will review the detailed written summary via IMed provided by the Nocturnist.
• Will complete coding/billing, dictations and verify e-signatures before shift is complete.

Annual Compensation for above opportunity:
182 work days required. Attendance at monthly provider meetings, committee meetings, other meetings and training outside of scheduled shifts is required and not additionally compensated.
Year One – $200,000
Year Two – $215,000
Year Three – $230,000
Year Four – $245,000

Hospital Details – 137-bed long-term acute care hospital (LTACH) that specializes in managing the complex medical care and rehabilitation of patients with multiple acute health care needs. A patient’s average length of stay is 25-30 days

Program Medical Director Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
• Performance Management of employed Hospitalists
• Serve in a partnership role with the management group Program Manager in all areas of program management including (but not limited to) marketing, staffing, HR issues, budget, clinical performance, strategic planning, services provided, and recruitment
• Orientation and training of new physicians
• Relationship management with key clinical and administrative stakeholders at the hospital
• Define and manage work allocation and work flow policies and processes of program clinical and physician staff
• Define and manage service agreements and scope of practice of direct admissions, perioperative and consultative care, ED consultations, ICU management
• Champion for change management and implementation of required expectations within the program
• Facilitate 2-way dialogue with staff hospitalists to promote physician involvement in program planning, policy development and other activities
• Position is a blend of clinical and management responsibilities

Education, Training & Experience Required:
• MD or DO degree
• ABIM or AOBIM certification in Internal Medicine
• License (or eligible) to practice in the state of Connecticut or willingness to obtain a Connecticut license
• Experience in a LTAC Hospital is a plus
• Experience in Hospital Medicine is a plus
• Demonstrated previous leadership and management skills
• Knowledge of physician services documentation and coding compliance requirements
• Experience in quality improvement initiatives, preferably with leadership responsibilities

This Idaho Hospitalist program includes critical care, surgical consultation, consulting on psych patients, sharing call by phone; approximately 15 patients per day, attending physician for approximately 80-85% of all admissions, 8-12 hour shifts. There currently have five Hospitalists. Negotiable compensation is hourly due to some physicians wanting to work more hours than others. The team is extremely flexible and works very well together covering for one another and accommodating schedules.

Hospitalists + is looking for a Board Certified Hospitalist to help with sporadic coverage at our facility in Mississippi.

This facility rotates on a 12 hour shift seeing about 18-20 patients per shift. Procedures are preferred including performing stress tests, however not intubations are required.
